This type of service should really be done in a laboratory where the air is filtered and the work station is perfectly clean without any hairs, dust or clothing particles preventing contamination (dust etc. entering into the watch cavity) and then affecting the movement or even particles showing up on the inner side of the glass.

Used to look vintage, now looks like a typical new.

That polish job was pure butchering. Sharp edges was rounded, crown on buckle was touched, the text on tachy-scale was destroyed, and so on. Value of this piece just went down with 50%! Please people, only let an authorized Rolex Service place polish your watch!

It looks great, but you can still tell that it was polished. How do you prevent the slight amount of rounding that you get caused by the buffer wheel on the corner edges of the bracelet? The new watch edges just look sharper and crisper and the matte finish areas look slightly different than on a brand new watch. How can you get a more ‘original’ finish and avoid the aforementioned problems, while also avoiding the over-polished look. I guess after wearing it a while, it will look more normal.

Was thinking of sending in my deep sea for polishing. But after watching this video, I think I’ll have to think twice. If I do send it in, I’d definitely let Rolex do it.
This video scares me. Yes, the Daytona ended up having a mirror finish and looking very new. But the edges were completely rounded! And the black letterings on the bezel is now chrome too. It’s definitely over done imo.

My opinion is: Masterpiece…. I enjoyed to watch this polishing process. Of course if its very expensive watch I would prefer to do it in authorized service center. If you have 10 000$ for watch you will spend 1000$ for polishing but if you have bought it somewhere in very bad condition for 1000$ because you cannot afford more then +100$ for this polishing is making you owner of brand new Rolex just that cheap! Once again – great work!
Watches are for pleasure not for being 100000000000% as they were in the first factory look. I am watches lover but with low budged 😛

polishing lead to make all sharp corner become round sharp that lost the detail and didn’t back to original shape

$100 is an unbelievable price for polish. It looks just like brand new.
